Whitecourt is a vibrant, fast developing community situated in a scenic valley. Our community of approximately 10000 population in town with an additional 3000 in the surrounding area and consists of mostly young people so we keep busy with emergency medicine and obstetrics.

When you are not working, there are many opportunities for camping, fishing, hunting and downhill skiing in the Rocky Mountains which is only 2 hours away.

We have an amateur theater group and a new multi-million dollar recreational facility, and 18 hole golf course amongst many other recreational activities.

The primary industries surrounding the Whitecourt region include forestry, petroleum and tourism. Two pulp mills call the community home and numerous oil and gas companies have offices located in the area.
