There will be opportunities to work in collaboration with other psychiatrists and inter-disciplinary team members. The successful candidate will be required to participate in on-call coverage for the proposed 24/7 community urgent care clinic located at the Anderson Hall and would have the opportunity dependent on man-power needs to provide some weekday and week-end onsite shifts at the Access center.
It is the expectation of this position that the successful applicant will participate in quality improvement initiatives within the program. In addition, the psychiatrist would be expected to participate in the community psychiatry research program which would form part of the soon to be established Division of Community Psychiatry with the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Alberta. Clinics are staffed by multi-disciplinary teams and the physician as part of the team will participate in clinical improvement initiatives as well as provide clinical leadership for members of the team. Remuneration is based on a fee-for service basis as well as sessional payments to cover travel time to client homes and non-billable activities.
