Practice Description

2.5 FTE Family Physicians and 1 FTE NP
This clinic operates under an Alternate Relatioonship Program (salaried position). There is no overhead expense under the ARP.

The present physician provide house calls to the Assisted Living facility and to the Seniors Lodge which would be a fee for service.

Job Description

The Nanton Medical Clinic is seeking a 0.6 FTE part-time physician to join their clinic under an ARP agreement. Ideal for a physician wanting a rural community, relaxed atmosphere with ‘down to earth’ people. Nanton Community Health Centre houses the physicians’ clinic, Nurse Practitioners, Public Health, Home Care and Laboratory services. The Physician panel will have a higher percentage of geriatric patients, with some complexity, due to the towns population.

Nanton is located 45 minutes South of Calgary, 1 hour from Lethbridge and easy access to Kananaskis Country, Nanton is close to the Foothills and only a short drive away into the city – Giving you the both of best worlds.

Nanton has a population of 2200 residents and is known for its western heritage and strong sense of community.

Nanton attracts thousands of visitors each year with its unique attractions such as the Bomber Command Museum of Canada, Canadian Grain Elevator Discovery Centre, antique shops and one-of-a kind stores, special events and good old fashioned hospitality.

Physician Agreement Incentives

A Flat Fee is paid to physicians who practice & reside in this community of $8200.00 per year provided his/her annual income for insured services is greater than $50,000. (Residency conditions apply, including living in the eligible community for nine of the previous twelve months ending on the payment date.) The Variable Fee Premium paid is an additional 0.00% for insured services provided in this community.

Rural, Remote, Northern Program (RRNP) - Please note, payments through the RRNP are capped at $60,000 per physician per year.

Medical Liability Reimbursement - reimburses physicians for their medical liability protection costs less a $1,000 deductible.

Continuing Medical Education - reimburses physicians for eligible continuing medical education costs. Each eligible physician receives a $2,656 annual allotment which can be carried forward for up to three years.

Parental Leave Program - provides $1,063 per week for up to 17 weeks to physician parents of a newborn or newly adopted child.

Business Cost Program - addresses escalating practice costs in community based practices. This fee modifier is added automatically to select office visits and consultations. This program applies across the province and all physicians who provide visit services in an office based setting will receive an additional $2.75 with the exception of Calgary and Airdrie where the fee modifier is $3.25 on select office visits and consultations.
